Adsorption Dryers (Molecular Sieve)

Twin-tower adsorption dryers for deep dehydration of natural gas and process gases. Molecular-sieve beds alternate between adsorption and thermal/pressure-swing regeneration for continuous dry-gas supply, with regeneration gas recycled to cut energy consumption.

Working Principle

Physical adsorption of water molecules in the micropores of molecular sieves achieves deep dew-point depression beyond what glycol units reach.

  1. Wet gas passes the drying tower; water molecules are captured in the adsorbent micropores; dry gas exits.
  2. On saturation the bed switches to regeneration: heating or depressurisation desorbs the moisture.
  3. Two towers alternate for continuous supply; regeneration gas is recycled.

Application Scenarios

  • Natural gas: CNG stations and long-distance pipelines — preventing ice plugs and corrosion.
  • Chemical industry: drying of process gases (hydrogen, nitrogen) to protect reaction purity.
  • Compressed air: instrument and power air dehumidification.
  • Cold regions and offshore platforms: explosion-proof, corrosion-resistant design.
