Working Principle

Multi-stage separation using centrifugal force, inertial impact and gravity settling. In three-phase units the density difference of oil, gas and water plus overflow-weir level control delivers clean separation of all three phases.

1. Primary separation: the inlet diverter abruptly redirects the flow; large droplets settle by inertial impact while gas carries fines onward.
2. Settling section: oil and water stratify by gravity, forming a stable oil–water interface; oil floats, water sinks.
3. Deep purification: a vane-pack mist eliminator captures micron-scale droplets; oil and water discharge through independently controlled overflow weirs.

Application Scenarios

• Oilfield production: crude dehydration and oil–gas–water three-phase separation, including heavy-oil and high water-cut fields (e.g. Shengli Oilfield service).
• Natural gas treatment: removal of liquid hydrocarbons and free water to pipeline gas-quality specifications.
• Gathering stations: integrated processing of wellhead streams, optimising field gathering and transport systems.
• Well testing: metering separators measure single-well oil, gas and water rates with built-in P/T compensation.
