Chemical Tower Systems (Columns)

Process columns for petroleum refining, chemical separation and gas purification: distillation, absorption, desorption and extraction towers — including deethanizers, depropanizers and crude oil stabilizers supplied to CNOOC offshore projects.

Working Principle

Efficient mass and heat transfer between gas–liquid or liquid–liquid phases across trays and packing delivers the separation duty at the heart of every refinery and gas plant.

  1. Feed enters the column at the design tray; vapour and liquid flow counter-currently.
  2. Trays or structured packing multiply the phase-contact area.
  3. Products draw off at defined purities: overhead, side-cuts and bottoms.

  • Petrochemical: atmospheric/vacuum crude distillation, FCC fractionation, ethylene-plant demethanizer/deethanizer service.
  • Fine chemicals: solvent recovery, intermediate purification, neutralisation.
